Manager: Plato’s Closet

As Manager at Plato’s Closet in Portsmouth, NH, I’ve grown within the company over six years—from employee to shift lead, assistant manager, and now manager—gaining deep experience in retail operations and team leadership. In my current role, I oversee daily store functions, including training new employees on customer service standards, store layout, and closing procedures. I plan and execute themed in-store events and promotions aligned with seasonal trends, and I create engaging Instagram Reels and Story posts to drive foot traffic and increase brand visibility. I handle customer concerns in person and over the phone, ensuring satisfaction while upholding store policies. Additionally, I manage merchandise displays and evaluate inventory for resale, ensuring it meets both the store’s demographic and sales goals. My work blends creativity, strategy, and leadership to deliver an exceptional customer experience and drive store success.

I have lived and grown through this job, starting at the age of 16, and now, as I transition into the working world after college, I’m incredibly grateful for the supportive and empowering environment I was part of during my most formative years. I especially want to thank Mo George, the owner of Plato’s Closet in Portsmouth, for not only having me on the team these past four years but for being a mentor who taught me invaluable life lessons along the way. Her trust in me—through increasing responsibilities and leadership opportunities—helped shape my confidence, work ethic, and professional growth. I truly appreciate the experience and guidance I’ve received under her leadership.
